The living world, as experienced through clay, is always the spark for me, as well as my exploration with dreams and practices that engage creatively with the unconscious. My praxis is rooted in a poetic, material, dialogue with the earth. Through embodiment ~ and more specifically touch ~ a centring presence arises through which forms emerge.
My work is organic, sculptural and contemplative. I gather local clay and utilize hand building and atmospheric sawdust and wood firing techniques to create atypical forms with depth and dynamic surfaces.
It is the felt connection to the world, and the quiet allure of what arrives, as if from a dream, that draws me into the making of art.
